Creation of the installation “Light Building” inspired by a series of questions on the cognitive and empathetic potential of the imagination. Hence, the “Light Building” is a container of images to be imagined; an “inner vision” focused on oneself and others.

Photographic research on “port movements”, a comparison between past and future.

Cuba 2010
Photographic research on the Cuban “resistance” at the Havana Boxing Centre and meeting with the author Daniel Chavarria. Pictorial research: a self-portrait (oil on canvas 40X40), seen as acquisition of Cuban traits.

Vietnam 2008/09

Pictorial and photographic research on some elements of Vietnamese tradition and on elements of western modernity. Particular focus on the world of construction workers in Hanoi’s building sites.

Research on the theme of “resistance”, highlighting the hardships of a post-Soviet reality, with particular emphasis on the landfill of Pata Rat and the boxing centre of Cluj Napoca.

Research into the origins and intimateness of the tango – series of video-clips shot in a dressing room of a milonga in Buenos Aires. Video & photo reportage inside a villa miserias of Buenos Aires (Fuerte Apache). Start of the idea of cataloguing everything that is Fluid: Series of videos and photos at the Iguaçu falls.

Photo reportage on the Sardiniancarnival celebrations, with special emphasis on the relationship between tradition and modernity. The main players in the pagan rites “Sos Mamuthones” and “Sos Issohadores” have survived into modernity with all their fascination and mystery.

Taipei: Photo reportage on the workers’ protests, subsequently applied to painting.

Start of a long research project on the history, music and origins of Brazil. Photo reportage on a long trip starting from Belèm and reaching as far as San Paolo.

Video and photo research on some elements of Philippine tradition and the destructive effects of western modernity. Special emphasis on the slums.

Senegal 2005

Reportage on a long trip starting from Dakar and ending at Casamance, land of the rebels and hence a symbol of resistance.

Capo Verde 2005

Photo reportage focusing on the phenomenon of immigration.

China 2004

A series of shots focusing on daily life scenes: the dressmaker with her old sewing machine, the journalist, the gleaming skyscrapers of Shanghai. Series of shots dedicated to understanding the figure of Mao Tse Tung, the political symbol of China in both past and present, a reproducible icon which enters the network of daily life. Videos aimed at capturing the music and elements of a tradition that survive in a fast changing world.
